Before the workshop
- A list of reports people open every week, with who opens them.
- The goal for this month or quarter, as one number.
- Access to the sources: BI, spreadsheets, CRM, task tracker. Read access is enough.
- One person from each department for a 30-minute session.
During the week
- Cut every metric nobody acts on. If a number never changed a decision, it leaves the board.
- Give every number a norm, so the board knows when to turn red.
- Attach an owner to every red number.
- Connect tasks to the numbers they are meant to move.
How to know it works
- The owner reads the hub in three minutes without asking anyone.
- The weekly meeting gets shorter, because the numbers are already known.
- At least one problem was caught by an alert before someone noticed it by hand.
If a board does not work after the week, I finish it for free. That is the guarantee on the workshop.
